The organization of this regiment was authorized by a resolution of the New York Provincial Congress on July 4, 1775. It was to be commanded by Colonel Seth Warner and was to have a strength of 500 men, who were recruited largely from the "Green Mountain Boys" of Ticonderoga and Crown Point fame....
